so let me get this straight. Some drunk idiot in a bar makes a few anti-semitic comments and says he likes Hitler (ironic b/c the man himself is gay and we all know how Hitler felt about gays) and a "proud jewish" person whose changed her name from Herzschlag to Portman condemns him but willingly signs a petition to free a Jew who, as an adult, raped and sodomized a 14 year old girl.
oh, and everyone should stop eating meat. The killing of animals for meat is bad and torture but rape isn't?
To say that I did would be an insult to you. So I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that the post was actually intended to make a point other than the one it seems to be trying to make.
It was meant as a "get out of jail free" card. You don't have to use it if you don't want to.
As for Polanski, the teenager had consensual sex with him so it was statuatory rape, and she has made a public statement that she does not want him to be imprisoned. If the "victim" doesn't want him punished, and if he does not pose a risk to others as a sexual perv, then I'm not going to get too harsh on Natalie for signing the petition. I would not have signed it, however. I just don't like the guy.
