I find it interesting how prostitution is illegal considering how men in the end will pay for sex in one way or the other anyways.

How does PAYING for sex increase the spread of STDs??? How does the STD know the financial status of the act?? As Charlie Sheen once said : "You don't pay a prostitute for sex....you pay them to GO AWAY afterwards.".

The REAL reason why states don't legalize prostitution is that less people would QUALIFY for welfare and unemployment benefits. The state could REQUIRE them to take ANY job available and that would mean PROSTITUTION. That is how is was in ancient times when a woman lost her husband and had no means to support herself.

Even if prostitution was not legalized, it will always be there. And honestly, the field is evolving, like it or not. Streetwalkers are a paltry minority of the prostitute class in many cases. The rest of the prostitutes are chicks who look totally "normal" and are bringing single men, boyfriends and husbands to their lair at various times of day. And these chicks are not always your stereotypical seedy type. They might be in college, or getting their Masters, OR, honestly, raking in 100 grand a year doing "private" sex" shows.

Anyone with a bone to pick against sex workers is sadly unaware of the dynamics and/or so hopelessly fixed in their own righteousness that they fail to see what is happening around them.

You would be surprised to know how many "brothels" operate in YOUR neighborhood. There are many "housewives" who supplement their income when their husbands are away.

You forgot about Herpes : Your gentals or skin area comes in contact with her genitals ( and she is shedding ) and there is NO condom that can cover that area UNLESS you wrap your lower abdoman and your penis with saran wrap. ( jk ) There is about 3 weeks before ( tingling ) and 3 weeks after from tingling to sore completely healing before you would or should have sex with her...

Oral same thing : Herpes from her genitalia goes into your mouth and you can get oral herpes. Rub your eye and you get Herpes in the eye...

This should make you really want MORE sex with prostitutes, yes ????

and how about when a hooker gets a false positive result? they have to contact all their sexual partners and have them tested, they have to have their partners tested, etc. and that creates far more problems than legal prostitution solves. and how many guys visit legal prostitutes, and then get divorced when their wives find out? and what happens when a hooker gets pregnant? is she forced to abort the fetus? grandiose claims are made about how good legal prostitution would be, but too many people only look at the first step, and forget about what comes after.

Yeah thats true, when you have a huge hub of sin like Las Vegas the obvious choice is to have prostitutes but Nevada decided to only have it legal in certain areas thus ENABLING street walkers.

"and how about when a hooker gets a false positive result? they have to contact all their sexual partners and have them tested, they have to have their partners tested, etc. and that creates far more problems than legal prostitution solves."

One of the beauties of rural Nevada legal brothels, again no cases have been documented.

Cited from Wikipedia: "Since 1986, when mandatory testing began, not a single full-time brothel prostitute has tested positive for HIV, although earlier tests required seven days to obtain the test results for new prosititutes, with a few eventually not being hired full-time after positive HIV test results were obtained. The mandatory condom law was passed in 1988. A study conducted in 1995 in two brothels found that condom use in the brothels was consistent and sexually transmitted diseases were accordingly absent. The study also found that few of the prostitutes used condoms in their private lives."

Prostitution in Nevada - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

About HIV: I will admit that it is most virulent according to most doctors during seroconversion which is typically before it is detectable.

Prostitutes in Nevada, the brothel binding rule: Prostitutes by law are not allowed to leave brothels during their stay of several weeks. Therefore they cannot have sexual encounters outside of the controlled environment.

Prostitutes in rural Nevada Brothels must always use condoms and rarely, if ever kiss on the mouth.

If you were clean, why would you bother sleeping with a risky street walker? If they aren't frequented, there is no business to be had, thus less street walkers + the freed up vice force.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Medical reasons aside I agree wholeheartedly with the fact that this is a personal freedom and should not even need this to justify it. However if I can convince you that it would be a win/win situation and simply pointless to take my freedom outside of for your moral reasons then why exactly do you feel you have the right to force your morality upon me, or the good people who choose to live their lives this way?

You are just as likely to get HERPES picking up a random chick at the bar (common practice for guys in their 20's and 30's) as you are with a random prostitute.

Actually, I don't know the actual stats. But basically, your average chick in a bar poses as much risk as the regular hooker. They both f*ck around a lot, in many cases. The hooker just tends to use rubbers more. Makes sense for business.

....AND it is bad for repeat business if you get a reputation for being a walking incubator. Prostitutes are probably CLEANER than the general population.

Yes. Anyone here can have sex tonite with their new date/gf/bf/one night stand and get Herpes. You will find out about it in about 3 weeks after your little blisters appear.

I realize my message was not just for prostitute visits...
