I don't know, nor do I care, who taught you about conservatives, but you're sadly mistaken in your assumption of what we care to be involved in. Generally, we want MUCH less government intrusion into peoples lives or business. Good grief.

It has been estimated that 90% of food bourne illnesses and deaths are the result of poor hygiene standards in the home. the regulators justify their heavy hand, especially on small business, by stating that they want to keep the public safe. surely if they want to keep the public safe they should concentrate on the area where there is the most harm.
what are your thoughts?

I would think the feds have every right to do this under Obamacare. Since the feds now have complete control of the health "care" system they have every right to check people's kitchen. After all, if you engage in unhealthy behavior you cost the State money.
I think they should have auditors that can inspect your home at any time and without notice. If you don't follow the correct hygeine practices or eat the right foods you will be denied medical care.
They already do it to businesses. Why not do it to individuals too? The more the merrier.
Yes. Let's create a Safe-Kitchen czar who can oversee several thousand new, pension-drawing government works to come into our homes and inspect our kitchens.
It will be swell.
Yeah and while they are in your home they can weigh you and check your thermostat setting.
