One thing that is not in doubt is that Obama's father was a foreign citizen (Kenyan/British) at the time of Obama Jr.'s birth. That has always been THE KEY ISSUE on Obama's eligibility. He is not a 'natural born citizen' as defined by many Constitutional scholars and legal experts. The POTUS must be born to parents (plural) that are both U.S. citizens. Obama clearly does not meet that standard.
Now, let's see his college records. A million-to-one odds are that Obama claimed he was a citizen of another country.
Except the US Constitution was thought up by rational people. The birther movement was not.
They are the ones that added:
"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
He released the actual state certified birth certificate that is official under the law three years ago. Simply nothing else was even needed. The state doesn't even release this, he needed to get an exception from the state to get the actual document.
Despite his bravado, this will ultimately sink any chance Trump had to be considered a nominee for the Republicans.
Are u serious? Obama had to go through the same channels any other president did to run for office. Trump was looking for a platform, unfortunatley it was the wrong one.

What I believe happened is that Obama saw that the interest in the questions was growing larger and faster and it was to his advantage to address it.

correct but to date not a single congressman (current or former), constitutional scholar, judge or law professor has agreed with the "2 citizen parent" definition of natural born citizen.
I think you view is in the minority. I think most sane people thought the whole issue was silly and wished it would go away. Most people saw a loony TV gameshow host goad the President, and they saw him take the bait. It was a very weak move. The polls will tell who is right.
Trump and you were the ones who took the bait. The president played you fools like a fiddle. Independents have been watching all this and will swing back to Obama.
