Politicians from both parties say one thing when they are candidates but do the other when in office. Which party does it more?
It's about equal. One is just as bad as the other.
I've always thought that the two party system was demeaning anyway. It basically says that there are only TWO points of view in this country, and that just isn't so. Parties are an old idea.
Since we know the world is round now, we should move on and move toward no parties. We need the best people for the job, and yes, sometimes that means putting two people together that have completely different ideas about things.
We would all be better off if the party system went away.
For instance, I want someone who aligns with Republican ideas as Secretary of Defense, always.
I want the Sec of the Treasury to be an independent thinker.
I want the Secy of DHHS to be an independent thinker.
At this point though, having voted for Obama myself, I wouldn't want someone who calls themselves a Democrat as the White House gardener. We'd end up with tons of beautiful, organic plants, and a bill for it that would take two terms to pay off.
Asking which one is more hypocrital is like asking "which crap-filled diaper smells worse". Thing is, I've already got a clothespin on my nose and refuse to sniff the crap.
There isn't enough of a difference between Dems and Reps today to even matter, they're pretty much all worthless in my opinion.
Agreed. Boehner and Cantor have been a huge disappointment backstabbing the Conservatives who put the House in their control.
With the exception of a few individuals on either side of the aisle the membership of both parties are largely hypocrits and just say whatever it takes to get elected.
