In this Arabic YouTube video from an Al Jazeera report on the fighting in Libya, rebel fighters listen to al-Qaida songs and indicate that religious fervor is motivating their battle against the regime of Col. Moammar Gadhafi.
Mr al-Hasidi admitted he had earlier fought against "the foreign invasion" in Afghanistan, before being "captured in 2002 in Peshwar, in Pakistan". He was later handed over to the US, and then held in Libya before being released in 2008.
Libya's protesters are a mob. The only thing uniting them is the desire to get rid of Gaddafi and seize power. Then, they'll discover that there isn't much they have in common. The most persistent and determined will win. It's also possible that those who will rule Libya 5 years from today are unknown yet. That is the reason I think the US better not get involved military.
Who know really. No report from those on the scene can say who the leadership is really.Make one wnder if and when the rebel threaten Triploi civilians if they attack the city we will bomb them to protect civilians.Right now it looks like we are protecting the rebles and even bombing government targets to support their attacks in the field.Souds to me like we are trying to overthrow the govenment but saying we are not.
