"News of Khamis's internship, which was approved by the State Department, was first reported by ABC News.
Since coming home, Khamis appears to have played a key role in helping his father's regime in its violent campaign to quell the uprising. He has led the elite 32nd Reinforced Brigade, known at the Khamis Brigade, which reportedly has been involved in brutally suppressing rebel forces.
Vice Adm. William Gortney of the Joint Chiefs of Staff described the Khamis Brigade, whose headquarters were the target of U.S. Tomahawk missiles, as "one of the most active in terms of attacking innocent people."

Until uprising, Gadhafi’s son was on U.S. internship - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110329/ts_yblog_thelookout/until-uprising-gadhafis-son-was-on-u-s-internship - broken link)

Oh the outrage.
Did anyone expect him to enlist in the US Navy/Air Force and attack his own father?

Ummmmm. Maybe because he killed a whole flight full of American Citizens a while back. Maybe because he opens fire & kills his own people. Maybe because he's a "mad dog."

And I'd still like to know the real reason his son was in the U.S. because I'm not buying the "infrastructure" improvement thing.

Haha ......the US has become an utter joke of a country. First we supported and propped up Libya and Gadhaffi. We have Hollywood celebrities giving him private concerts. We find out Al-CIAda is party of the rebels. His son was living in our country going to our colleges.......Now we are thinking about arming the rebels have how many of our young men and women have been killed trying to abolish Al-ciada? What a f'ing joke America has become!

Interesting article about another one of Gadhafi's sons and his ties to Harvard Professors.

"Before he joined Libya's slaughter, Gaddafi's son Saif was celebrated by Westerners as a liberal reformer. Judith Miller on how he used money to fool the West."
