Jay Carney: Obama totally regrets his 2006 vote against raising the debt ceiling « Hot Air

Quote:
If you’re keeping score at home, this makes three different answers that The One or his surrogates have given vis-a-vis the position he took on the debt ceiling five years ago. The first was Obama’s Senate floor speech at the time in defense of his no vote, where he fatefully said, “Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’” You might be hearing that soundbite played in conservative media a time or two over the next few weeks. The second was back in January, when Gibbs replied to a question about O’s 2006 vote by insisting that it was, um, symbolic. He knew that the debt ceiling was going to be raised, so he voted no; had the issue been in doubt, presumably he would have voted yes. So even according to Gibbs, the sonorous bit about leadership and the buck stopping here was basically a lie.
So now Obama regrets a vote he made in 2006 which was against raising the debt ceiling. Oh how convenient..... And turns out, its basically his third answer on the issue. Gee, had Palin given three different answers, she'd be called an idiot.

I bet he has a few other regrets:

1. Saying he would close Gitmo

2. Being against the Patriot Act

3. Being against two wars and saying he would end them

4. Saying the health care "debate" would be open to the public

5. Saying he wouldnt have lobbyists

6. Hiring a tax cheat(s)

7. Van Jones

8. Saying he would bring positive and needed change to Washington

9. Saying he would have the most transparent admin ever

10. Saying the we shouldnt mandate the purchase of health care

11. Instituting Pay Go

12. Saying Unemployment wouldnt drop below 8.5 percent

13. Saying thered be no earmarks

14. Saying he isnt someone who promotes gay marriage

15. Saying when a bill is on his desk, Americans will have 5 days to review it

16. Forgetting where he met his wife

17. Saying the health care bill will pay for itself

18. Saying he visited all 57 states

19. Saying "that's not the Jeremiah Wright that I knew"

And the reaction from those who still worship this man to this day is interesting. They are either silent or say the weirdest things to try and defend him or they just deflect.
