Every time a leftist is in front of a camera, the first point they make about about "fairness".

Are we for equality of opportunity or outcome?

Exactly. It is whining at its finest. Life is not fair; the only factors which one can directly influence is effort and showing up on time. Nothing else is within one's control and is not "fair".

"Fairness" has become the new synonym for redistribution of wealth. That practice is not "fair", as it takes treasure and labor from one earned it to one who did not. However, a political system that trades treasure for votes will always promote the concept of wealth redistribution to maintain political power. The dems have become "vote merchants" and are not willing to give up the product that they are selling.

They do not know what the word fairness means. The way they use the term is to create a class warfare

Liberals don't care about something being fair, they just want everything to be unfair to those that they don't like or envy.

Of course life isn't fair, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do our best to be "more fair." Obviously equal outcomes aren't always possible, but "in order to form\ a more perfect union" we need to ensure that all people have the opportunity to have a reasonable outcome in their lives. It's natural for have-nots to be jealous of the "haves," but it's not class-warfare when the rest of us look to those with wealth to pay their fair share, or even a little more. People get rich for a number of reasons: sometimes it's hard work and other times it's luck.

Everything to the liberal has to be about "fairness". What is fairness? You can't measure it. But we know what they mean. Take from the haves (the middle classes on up, but mostly the middle class) to give to the people who'd rather sell drugs for a living and live up the thug life because they were too weak-minded to resist pressure

As a so called "liberal," I can assure you that the last thing I want to do is to take rich people's money and give it "to the people who'd rather sell drugs for a living and live up the thug life because they were too weak-minded to resist pressure." What we, or at least I, want our collective tax dollars to go to is to ensure that every young person can receive a decent education and that every poor family has access to services that will help them help themselves out of poverty.

Actually, I'm tired of threads being started based on false statements.

Poor people already have the tools they can use to propel themselves up. What more are we going to give them??? The poor get free food, free or subsidized housing, a very low cost or free education, free medical care, what more is there to give I ask you?? And why are they not going out and using these opportunities, especially the low cost to no cost education? And where has that gotten them as a collective? Practically nowhere. They still can't speak properly, or critically read, if they can read at all.
