I think they should have buried him on land and announce to the world where the spot was located. Then have Predator drones hovering over 24/7. It would have been a good way to draw his followers out and to eliminate them.

Muslim tradition.

They should've displayed his impaled carcass at ground zero, imo.

I think that was a false flag. I think they have his body and it'll be on display in some secret bunker...skull & bones stuff.

I would have burned it, and then defecated in the hole the ashes were spread.

In all seriousness, if you've listened to the comments today, there is a great fear of retributions from the extremists over our victory. If I were to guess, it was to try and minimize those retributions, at least in some small measure.

I'm thinking burial at sea was a huge mistake.... The oceans are already polluted enough as it is, and we had to dump yet one more piece of garbage in the water.....

Its simple, so there is no place to have a shrine to his memory. It would be a place of the faithful to go see and hold as holy. Just like you Christians do with the shroud of Turin. LOL. Its so nice to be an atheist and not have all that BS to try to defend.

I would hope the message the other terrorists get is:

No, you're not safe. It may take us a while, but we'll get your ass too... Screw with us and you'll be every bit as dead as your leader.....
