Newt likes to present himself as a one man, super-conservative brain trust, smart enough to tell the rest of us what we should think. He's uniquely gifted to recognize what's wrong with America and what should be done to correct it.

In reality, though, he's just another vote hound, used to speaking in sound bites selected to generate an emotional response in the listener. (How typically GOP is that?)

Poor Newt. He's become so infatuated with himself, and so sure of his greatness, that he seems to think he can say anything and nobody will notice. At Cornerstone Baptist Church in San Antonio the other day, (Yes, that's John Hagee's congregation) he made the most idiotic remark I've heard yet this political season.

"I have two grandchildren -- Maggie is 11, Robert is 9. I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American."
Newt Gingrich warns U.S. at risk of atheism and radical Islam - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Really, Newt? Secular atheist AND Islamist? Wow, that's some combination of buzz words!

The best oxymoron of the day, from the GOP's moron in chief.

Newt Gingrich is a REAL college professor, not a "guest lecturer" like Barry.

Default Newt Gingrich: Intellectual?

Newt's a shrewd and absolutely amoral megalomaniac.

As he's shown repeatedly, he'll say anything to anyone in his desperate attempt to be relevant to someone. He wants to be president so badly. Never happen. But Newt old boy, you're entertaining.
