So how is the left working on any of those things right now?

awful, but their "Base" still supports these things in theory, at least relative to the GOP.

in any event i agree that Ron Paul's biggest obstacle is winning over Republican voters.

Why would they? Ron Paul's opponents are on the Republican side. Ever heard of primaries?

Deflection. Ron Paul's first challenge is to get past the right wingers, no?

I think that Mr Paul's biggest obstacle is convincing the mainstream Republicans that being 75 years old is not 'old'.

I mean, you certainly had quite a few people who thought that Senator McCain was a bit too old, and Mr. Paul has his beat by 4 years now.

For once you and I agree. If he can survive the progressive and Neo-Con Republicans, the Democrats should be no issue.

"aging" is more than just the number of years you have on you. IMO McCain was never in close touch with reality.

Obviously someone who is 60, 70, 80 is blessed with a great deal more experience than someone younger. The problem is that at those ages it takes someone especially intelligent and motivated to keep touch with current facts. I have more faith in Paul's competence and ability than I did with McCain.

THe Left? Try the left AND the right. Watch the Fox News and MSNBC machine start to tear down Ron Paul. Hannity is already on the attack, throwing hardball questions at Ron Paul but softball ones to the mainstream candidates.

Like the Daily Paul.com pointed out. Questions to candidates:

Mainstream candidates: what's 1+1? You have 20 seconds
Ron Paul: What's 6 times 1.5826248 divided by 20.32? Take the square root of your answer and raise it to the 1/4th power. You have 10 seconds.

It's not the left that's the problem for Ron Paul. It's Rush Limbaugh, the GOP leaders, and Fox News that's the problem.
