A bit early for speculation of that nature isn't it?
Who's to say he won't be running for a second term or conversely that there will even be a US left to govern at that time.
Ron Paul won't be running for a second term because he will not even get a 1st term since he won't get the Republican nomination, and everybody knows that 3rd party groups like the Independent and the Libertarian Party never win any presidential elections.
I am going to use a wrestling metaphor. 3rd party groups are to politics like what jobbers are to the WWE, meaning they never win.
A better question is, if Obama wins in 2012, will he just install himself as our Commander for life? It's been done before, by dictators. This is the first regime that doesn't give a hoot about the rule of law. If they don't like it, they don't abide by it. They don't even care what our Supreme Court has to say. The Constitution is just an old piece of paper. He has his sights on being our King, then onto dominating the globe.
RON PAUL 2012, 2016 may be too late. Keep in mind, he has 2 sons that are very civic minded. Rand may be ready by 2016.
Herman Cain would be a fair pick too. He doesn't suffer fools gladly.
I would not be surprised if Ron Paul keeps running every 4 years into he finally dies, meaning as long as he is still breathing he won't give up his dream of wanting to become president.
If Ron Paul is still alive for the 2024 presidential elections, I am sure he will run again by that time even though he will be 90 years old.
