cant watch the video, my workplaces network blocks youtube

apparently you cant post a synopsis of it either

but the fact remains, that spending (all spending) has doubled in the last 10 years...facts remain that medicare/caid is very expensive (we could never afford a singlepayer system) and rising everyyear

the facts also remain that even the 'drastic' ryan budget proposal does NOT cut medicare for current seniors or anyone over 55...it does REFORM medicare for the FUTURE

I dont really care what a video of some politician spinning says

the facts are there cut spending now. or you wont have ANYTHING in the future

and btw why the spamming

you already have a thread about republicans cutting medicare

you have violated the TOS

Typical leftist spin and far from the truth. GOP's plan does not have an impact on those 55 and older, but starts to change the landscape for those who can start saving or investing in their future retirements. The Obama health care bill which is in place, takes a huge chuck out of Medicare and redistributes it to others and has a 15 member panel that will ration the remaining funds. So Obama and the dems have already "killed" Medicare as we know it. I listened to Bill Clinton and you would think the dems would as well, something has to change and the by kicking this can down the road will leave everyone scrambling.

You didn't watch the video either. There was no spin, just facts. The spin was coming from the guys.

Flaws with Weiner's argument, medicare already contracts out services to the private sector, and he said its a "guaranteed entitlement" but thats completely faulse. The only way it passes legal muster is if its a TAX program, not an entitlement. The proposal also does not do away with Medicare..

He said its not draining our economy, but it has tens of trillions in unfunded liabilities. So now debts are meaningless to Democrats? Ooh yeah, they are...

Video full of lies, but hey.. A Democrat said it, so it must be true!!

something sure needs to be done

btw no-one is saying end medicare for anyone currently over 55

Obama already stoled half a trillion out of Medicare when they passed Obama Care.
Obama has doomed this faster, so what would be the Democrats do now? Band aids for diabetes?

Great rhetoric without any solutions. All of that is well and good but how do we pay for a system that has a known massive increase in beneficiaries, and unknown future of medical advancements, and unknown amount of cost and an unpredictable amount of usage?

I do know Medicare in 1965 was projected to cost in 1990 $10 billion, it came in 10 times that amount.

Feel good placating rhetoric won't some the problems.

BTW, I am not a Republican and the Ryan plan is a joke.
