Psychology Today Apologizes for 'Black Women Less Attractive' Post - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/atlantic/20110528/tc_atlantic/psychologytodayapologizesblackwomenlessattractivea rticle38261 - broken link)

Quote:
The article used data based on another study to make several claims such as "black women are objectively less physically attractive than other women" yet "subjectively consider themselves to be far more physically attractive than others."
I understand they want to sell some magazines but they should have known that they would be subjecting themselves to an awesomely well organized campaign of orchestrated rage.

The Professional Victim Industry absolutely feeds on public statements implying that a certain race is not 100% equal or superior in every possible way from all other humans.

I bet their next headline will be, "Everybody's perfect!"

That magazine is full of garbage: it's not just their biased hate-mongering research on "black women". It's their entire biased magazine that's a problem.

To say that black women are objectively less attractive than women of other races is not only patently false, but racist to boot.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; it's always subjective.

It's true. Just ask black men in Hollywood and the music industry.

Physical attractiveness is not objective. There's nothing to be argued because it's a matter of personal taste. There is no better way to dig a hole for oneself than to try to debate a subjective matter.

Surprised it got by the editor's desk...

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/08/sc...tier.html?_r=1

"Discrimination is always high on the agenda at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology’s conference, where psychologists discuss their research on racial prejudice, homophobia, sexism, stereotype threat and unconscious bias against minorities. But the most talked-about speech at this year’s meeting, which ended Jan. 30, involved a new “outgroup.”

If beauty were really in the eye of the beholder humans wouldn't put people on pedestal.

There are common traits for all races that are considered attractive or not.

Those are factors that drive evolution.

The problem with scientist is they're not so good at politics when trying to present data, even if the data were 100% true.

Subjective but not random. Majorities will agree on who is attractive or not, at least on the individual level.

I have read that since dating other races has become more common there are more single black women than before. Many black men date white women. Why is this, do they not find black women attractive or are there other factors?

There are much fewer black female-white male couples. It is generally agreed on that this is because black women are only interested in black males. Is it because they don't find white males attractive? If somebody came out with a study saying white men are less attractive would anybody be hurt or get angry? Or would it be within the realm of political correctness?
