Just because the federal withholding tax hasn't been raised, doesn't mean that there haven't been any tax increases.

Ask any smoker how they feel about the .65 cent increase in tobacco products.

There have been too many of these taxes to name.

Please stop judging tax rates today with those of generations past.

We didn't have the high property taxes, high sales taxes, high state income taxes, city wage taxes, FCC taxes....look at your phone bill tax, cable/satellite bill tax, utility bill tax, fuel tax, tire tax, "luxury vehicle" tax, gas guzzler tax, etc.

I pay more money in tax than most people earn.

47% of working Americans pay ZERO federal income tax. How about asking them to pay $100 per year each?

The top 5% of tax payers carry 40% of the burden.

Isn't that "fair" enough for you?

Just ask the businessmen in Illinois how they feel about being told that there is no money to refund them the millions of dollars in state withholding tax that they are owed.

All the while, the unproductive recipient class still get their checks!

If anyone lacks common sense, it's the "teabaggie" crowd.

Liberal/progressive ideology defies common sense.

The quote provided doesnt even support the "information" as facts..

The impact of the tax cuts on economic growth is a matter of debate among economists

It’s unclear how much of the growth can be attributed to the tax cuts

There is no facts presented to be debunked

The fact is that it is "unclear".

As far as I am concerned the top 10% of the population should be taxes based on all their income, (wages, bonuses, capital gains, inheritance, theft etc.), from all sources. As corporations are now legally people this should also apply to them. They should pay for current government operating costs. Additional funds raised by countervailing tariffs and excise taxes on legalized drugs (why should pot smokers avoid paying a tax) would go to debt payments.

In conjunction with stopping our support of the international petroleum cartels and elimination of military aid to the Middle East and elsewhere our budget could be balanced. This is an example of how raising taxes, in the proper manner, would actually eliminate deficits. That would be the best of both worlds. A prosperous middle class free of income tax and a government free of the bloodsucking money lenders.

Why do I need to? But then, it is (almost) 2012, as it has been since Nov 4, 2008, so I can see why you MUST perform your Obama routine several times a day. Perhaps you would prefer the discussion be about Bush versus Obama as opposed to implications of tax cuts on deficits? In that case, you should really pick a different thread because that would be trolling here. Or, perhaps, you've suddenly realized an agreement with the title of the thread that you claimed otherwise yesterday?

No, you can't make people think of mirage as water. Leave it to the conservatives to engage in endless "thinking" of water at the end of the highway.

Thumbs down Raising taxes always increases the deficit

So tax increases only cost the government money and add to the deficit, yet liberals constantly tote tax increases as a way to solve the deficit. Of course with liberals the intent of taxes is not so much to fund the government as it is to redistribute wealth. Liberals constantly propose tax increases because they want to steal more of your money. The only way to actually pay down the debt is to stop redistributing wealth and to just fund the government. Either have a flat tax or consumption tax, no more redistribution of wealth. Garnish the salaries of legislators who vote for tax increases. In fact any time a legislator votes for a tax increase, 20% of their salary should be automatically garnished to pay for it. People should have to pay a 20% to vote Democrat since they're the ones who are the best at spending other people's money. People should get tax credits for voting Republican cause at least they're not trying to vote themselves other people's money.

Silly assertions are always silly.
