"In just four years, Monterrey, a manufacturing city of 4 million people 140 miles from the Texan border, has gone from being a model for developing economies to a symbol of Mexico's drug war chaos, sucked down into a dark spiral of gangland killings, violent crime and growing lawlessness."

Special report: If Monterrey falls, Mexico falls - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_mexico_drugs_monterrey#mwpphu-container - broken link)

The US and Mexican government are both corrupt hence nothing will ever be done in either country when it comes to the drug war and narco violence. Mexico is a failed state. It's basically a country that is in a permanent state of civil war right now and has been for years. The media, and both governments and the people of both Mexico and the US just won't admit it. This narco bull**** is ruining American communities and is posing a huge national security threat all over the USA. Our politcians sit on their hands......Calderon's administration sits on its hands. The US government could go in and disrupt and completely destroy the Zetas and any other drug network. These guys are cowards........they would fold like little girls against armed opposition like the US special forces or the US military. If we want to save one country from itself and invade it should be Mexico. And the Mexican people should allow it along with their national military. This problem could easily be solved. But both governments are flaccid when it comes to any real solution or action. It' is scary and Amerians should be very scared as this threat of violence from south of the border is very real and much more imminent than some terrorist Muslim 3000 miles away.

Obama protect the USA?????

The Obama Administration are helping the cartels.

Agent: I was ordered to let U.S. guns into Mexico - CBS Evening News - CBS News

An Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms senior agent assigned to the Phoenix office in 2010, Dodson's job is to stop gun trafficking across the border. Instead, he says he was ordered to sit by and watch it happen.

Investigators call the tactic letting guns "walk." In this case, walking into the hands of criminals who would use them in Mexico and the United States.

On Dec. 14, 2010, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down. Dodson got the bad news from a colleague.

According to Dodson, "They said, 'Did you hear about the border patrol agent?' And I said, 'Yeah.' And they said 'Well it was one of the Fast and Furious guns.' There's not really much you can say after that."

Not only is the Obama administration supplying the cartel with it's high-powered weapons, it's keeping the border wide open for their use.

I think it's not Monterrey that should be watched, it's Ciudad Juarez. Ciudad Juarez was Mexico's 4th largest city if you don't count Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, etc. Ciudad was the shining NAFTA city, the biggest NAFTA city of all of them, and it's in trouble.

It's not Obama and it's not necessarily his administration. Come on.......both are controlled by an out of controll CIA and Pentagon. Obama is a puppet, a useless empty suit. His position means nothing. The CIA and the Pentagon are ruled by corporate America and the military industrial complex......they are the entities that really run the show in the USA. The US government is just a flaccid limp wristed group of puppets who have no power to get anything done.

I'm not an Obama fan but it's not only his fault, Congress has done zero to force his hand. We had 3,000 fellow citizens killed on 9/11 and there is nothing to stop terrorists from walking across our borders and harming us again.

Ha. What a transition. A story about Monterrey, Mexico's problems, and then twisting it into an attack on Obama. Please.

Mexico right now is for all intensive purposes a narco-state. The police and military have already been compromised.

It's already lost, most people just don't realize it yet.

Well yes he and the others are just puppets. They wouldn't be where they are if they weren't.
