I was going to rep you up until that last sentence. Your claim is baseless and not one I've seen here on CD. Quite the opposite. Look at all the excuses in the "Weinergate" thread.

How stupid can I man get? This fool should have realized the only rational way to handle an affair that results in additional children is to bring the new brood home and tell the women to cope and the kids they have some new brothers or sisters.
Unfortunately, considering the basic prudishness of the electorate, doing this would kill a political career. Doing what this fool allegedly did might put him in jail. The attempted cover up was the mistake. The mistress was not.
His wife, who was being treated for cancer throughout this ordeal, and his family, would likely disagree that the mistress was not a mistake.
Happily, the selfish egotist will hopefully pay for all his crimes with a jail term, and loss of license to practice law. Using that elderly woman for her loads of money was also a crime in my mind.
Thanks for the reminder. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
