"Asked why more African Americans haven't joined him at tea party rallies and conservative conventions. "They can't afford to," Cain said. If you look at the typical income of a black family of four it's going to be lower than a non-black or white family. "Generally speaking on average, white families are much more economically prosperous than black families"

What about all those civil rights protests? The million man march and all those other rallies where you see plenty of Black people????? Or perhaps he really meant to say that the tea party if for rich white folks.

I don't understand what is wrong with this guy. He catering to people (racist) who hate him and will always hate him because of his skin color. I really don't see his angle here.

It's an appallingly ignorant thing to say in light of a growing Black American middle class.

Shifting African-American Population (http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/report-shifting-african-american-population-114439 - broken link)

Quote:
• African Americans are nearly six years younger than all consumers; 47 percent are between 18 and 49 years old, which is considered the top-spending age demo by marketers.

Black households making $75,000-plus have increased 47 percent in the last five years—1.5 times faster than the general population.

• If current trends continue, by 2015 more than half of all black Americans will live in the suburbs.

• Although their population is smaller, there are more African-American households in the U.S. than Hispanic households because the latter tend to have larger families.
I gotta admit this guy is proving to be very talented at saying things that will alienate Black voters.

Maybe that is part of his strategy.

Cain is not Tea Party and is not conservative. He believes in Big government and is a republican through and through. Chairman of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City who was against auditing the fed. You know the audit that exposed foreign banks receiving our money.
He backed Tarp. No way he stands for smaller government and Tea Party ideals. Just another politician playing to the peoples emotions.

It sounds like he is actively trying to appeal to white nationalist. What is the point in that? Does he really think he can get the racist vote?
