Tim Pawlenty proposes to move the top tax bracket from 35% to 25% causing a 7 trillion dollar reduction in revenues. An absurd goal in a time of record deficits. Lawrence O'Donnell analyzes the possible outcome, talks about the great Republican Tax lie that they continuously perpetuate, and discusses how we currently have lower taxes than even under Reagan.

Great post and segment from O'Donnell. It's like the right purposely want to destroy the country at all costs as long as it keeps the fat cats as wealthy as possibly. Even more failed tax breaks for the rich/deficit spending?? What a loon.

The leftist attack machine veers, pivots, and lunges at whoever they percieve to be the republican favorite at the moment. It is hilarious. It is the motions of a dying animal whose politcal life is coming to an end.

Pawlenty's plan would INCREASE revenue, not decrease it. By establishing a base, without deductions, there would be increased government revenue. Keep in mind that currently, if the left was able to enslave "the rich" (as they would love to do) and have them pay 100% tax, it would only generate $900 billion in additional revenue.

The left is TERRIFIED at the prospect of spending cuts, particularly for entitlements. When these cuts are made, the democrats no longer have "treats" available for which to buy votes from the dependent class. In short, when the cupboard is bare, there is no further need for liberals, as they have no additional government revenues to distribute for entitlements.

You do realize the tax plan we have now is the same epically failed one enacted by Bush and the republicans right?
T-paw wants to go even further with that disaster adding even more deficit spending that we can't afford.

A 10% reduction in taxes causes a $7 trillion dollar loss of revenue?

That is a really neat trick considering the total revenues for the federal government in 2010 was $2.163 trillion. Obviously this Lawrence O'Donnell is a complete moron. Which explains why liberal freaks like him so much.

So you believe a "news reader" with an socialist opinion over someone with experience? What qualifies O'Donnell to give "analysis" on anything besides how to read a script?

Liberals rely on words, views and spin of a socialist. Too funny. You libs and Lawrence are free to move to a socialist country at any time.

Odonnel is about as credible as your average internet blogger. If he was otherwise he wouldn't be on MSNBC.
