Meh, what happened to sending him home to change, or giving him in-school suspension for the day? Seems a bit of overkill to suspend a kid for days for violating dress code. Schools have been wont to overreact to small things in recent years, though.

Seems pretty harsh to me. Couldn't they have just taken him out of class until he changed his clothes?
He was purposely being disruptive. What is the policy of that particular school for purposeful disruptive behavior from a student?

And would a girl be suspended for wearing a suit and tie to school? Hell no.
Which has what to do with anything? If she did it to be disruptive, yes, she should be.

Especially if her suit pants were held up by a belt under her behind and she was wearing anything other than boxer shorts.

Let "little things" pass and it's a lot harder to maintain control over larger issues.

I think that the boy was suspended because all he was trying to do was draw attention to himself.

Its not my district, I don't really care what they do, I don't want to see a bunch of boys wearing dresses and high heels to school.

Just another reason why we should have uniforms.

I don't see why he was suspended at all. The dress was in no way inappropriate (it covered his ankles).

Suspension is unwarranted! I agree they should have just had him change his clothes.

Choose your battles. Or, as my good friend says, "Is that the hill you want to die on?"

Sounds pretty funny. However, rules are rules and a suspension is not a big deal.

Especially when it involves cross-dressing. Some people think cross-dressing is just about the worst thing ever.

It's not that deep, folks. It's just a dress.
