Marijuana has been approved by California, many other states and the nation's capital to treat a range of illnesses, but in a decision announced Friday the federal government ruled that it has no accepted medical use and should remain classified as a dangerous drug like heroin.
The decision comes almost nine years after medical marijuana supporters asked the government to reclassify cannabis to take into account a growing body of worldwide research that shows its effectiveness in treating certain diseases, such as glaucoma and multiple sclerosis.
This medical marijuana card and dispensaries BS in California is a joke. I have a relative that explained how to get the card and Mary Jane with no real medical need over 4th of July. Just a plain bunch of BS. If it is deemed medically necessary, you should have to jump through the same hoops as for any schedule 2 drug like morphine.

It's easy in CA. As it ought to be. No pot smoker yet has cased a problem that I know of.
I have no use for marijuana but I sure am tired of the so-called War On Drugs.
Pot has been shown to decrease nausea and increase appetite in cancer and AIDS patients. Performing much better than any big pharma drug could ever dream of.
I blame it 99% on the puritanical church groups in this country who lobby our government. If it weren't for these uptight religious types drugs would be totally legal.
