The federal government has a congressionally mandated goal of awarding 23 percent of the total value of all contract dollars to small businesses. However, the government’s database of federal small business contractors is crowded with names like Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and General Electric. Giant foreign corporations like British Aerospace (BAE), Rolls-Royce and Thales are also among firms that received small business contracts.
Because of the diversion of billions of dollars in small business contracts to large firms, the ASBL estimates that legitimate small businesses actually received about five percent of federal contract dollars.
Nothing new here. Small business is lumped with the middle class...SOL and responsible to pay back all that government money.
The Farm Bill is no different..full of Big Ag corporations and rich fat cats living in CA and NYC collecting millions in government subsidies while Joe "small farmer" gets rejected for conservation land improvements assistance.
I wonder how our left leaning friends will deal with this one. I bet they will try to make it appear that some of those corporations own some farm ground so it is legal. Maybe they will just ignore this thread in order to keep from defending actions like these. Yeah, I bet that is what they will do
Well, it's not like the government can grow businesses anyways. Right, righties?
