I saw a documentary recently on how Mexican druglords are growing marijuana in the US now instead of trying to ship it in to the country. More than half of their profits come from marijuana and they use extreme violence to protect those profits. Their violence even extends to the growers. Most of them have their families still in Mexico and are threatened or even held hostage so that the growers will comply with the druglords demands. If they lose their crop their families can lose their lives. Naturally any hiker or backpacker who stumbles upon the grow site is killed immediately. The DEA agents interviewed in the documentary made it quite clear that they consider marijuana to be THE cash crop of the Mexican drugloads and the #1 cause of the rise in violence in the past five to ten years.

That way no drugs get in. Unless our military can be corrupted.
That is the best solution. Secure the border by any means necessary.

If the politicians and cops won't do the right thing and end the drug war than it is time for some civil disobedience in the form of a nationwide call for jury nullification. That is what it took to get the ball rolling on the end of alcohol prohibition.

If juries make it impossible to convict someone on drug charges, there will be no incentive to continue to arrest people.

yeah just a waste of time... "Among the drugs which were rounded up were 2,773 pounds (1,258 kilograms) of methamphetamine, 6,000 pounds (2,722 kilograms) of cocaine, 1,005 pounds (456 kilograms) of heroin"...heck those drugs are good for you.

Glad to hear that! All good, decent, patriotic citizens do as they are told. Keep up the good work!

If you don't like them, don't do them.

I can never understand this mentality and it seems mainly to come from people that consider themselves to the right of center on the political spectrum. Their idea of freedom is that you are only free to do what the government has decided to allow. True freedom is much different than that. I will never understand the law and order faction of the right wing. The "law is the law" and the Gadsden flag don't go very well together as a political philosophy.

So your for breaking the law when you don't agree with it? That creates anarchy. Go live in a third world country and start your own little empire if that's what you want. Many do.

What if the government passed laws banning gun ownership, going to church or eating meat? Would you just meekly go along since the law is the law?

We can play "what if's" all day long. One would have to or move if your that upset about the drug war or whatever other law is passed why would you live here where it's illegal? Grow a pair and move and stop whining about it. Elect like minded folks to your legislature or city council's. Or one could rule by the law of the land which is the Constitution but that would be crazy to many folks.
