Instead of trying to "one up" the GOP, Liberals need to pull their collective heads out of the sand and view this Debt Default situation with the clarity that it deserves. That clarity hinges not on an economic calamity, but a President whose legacy is teetering verly closely to the "Worst President Ever" cliff.

Consider this. How many Congressmen from the last 220+ years can you name? How many can you name that had a negative connotation asterisked by their name because of something negative they did?

Now, how many President's can you name from the past 220+ years? How many President's can you name that have a negative connotation asterisked by their name because of something negative they did?

You can name far more President's than you can Congressmen, and you are well aware of the good and bad things those President's have achieved. I highly doubt any of you can say the same for any particular Congress without researching it.

Yes, Barack Obama stands to be the first President in history to have a Debt Default tagged to his name. Do you think that the President is oblivious to this fact? Not a chance. His legacy depends on compromising with this Congress.

You can expect that he's about to compromise away your ideals in order to fortify that Legacy. The GOP will win this war hands down. Bet on it.

Obama is just an extension of Bush. Neither political cabal gives a **** about this country. Their only goal is to support their global masters while absolutely screwing you in the process.

Get off the partisan bent and wake the f*ck up already.

George W. Bush is not the President. In your words, "wake the f*ck up already."

And you think I don't know this? Why is this your central argument? It doesn't seem like stating the obvious is very productive.

So, how do you feel about the President compromising your ideals (assuming you voted for him) in order to protect his legacy. Because that's exactly what's about to happen.

Do you think you can comment on the OP? Or is it beyond your grasp to speak of anything that doesn't involve George W. Bush?

I sense a mighty sense of dissatisfaction of this President coming from you. Perhaps I struck a nerve. I'm glad I did.

Every thread that starts with "Obama's Legacy" is wacked. Obama's legacy hasn't been determined, but I am sure his legacy will not be as dark and gloomy as you'd like.

Obama's legacy will be determined by the first week of august. Right now he is sitting on 9.2% unemployment, 4.1 billion added to the debt daily( which I nearly 4 times what bush added), and 3 foreign wars which is just an extension of his bush like foreign policy.

So is this the change you believed in?

Obama's legacy will very much be influenced by the outcome of the Debt Default discussion. Either he will be the Debt Default President, or he will be the President who compromised away Liberal Ideals. In such case, Barack Obama will have a hard time getting re-elected in 2012 due to Liberal Disssatisfaction. His legacy does indeed hinge upon this issue.

I think you have a point, look how many people blame Hoover for the depression.
