See, this is what happens when you don't read the whole thread. You miss where I corrected that.

The question is, has it ever warmed up before? or better yet, has it been this warm before and if so, why would this warming be different?

Obviously the underlying issue of the OP is to debunk climate change and the effects of it and the issue of it being caused by humans or not. My question is how would one debunk the acidification of the oceans because the two are intertwined as any intlligent person is well aware of.

A couple of days ago here it was still 100 at 1am. Have two window ac's which stay on all day. I would also add that it was getting into the 100 degree range in JUNE. That's 20 degrees over the norm for June.

If this was the low desert of socal, then it would be normal. If it was August it would be normal. And the heat index is very meaningful. 100 at 10 percent humidity is a far different animal than at 60 percent.

The experiment in atmospheric physics continues as we are still adding billions of tons of CO2 every year. The results are being observed as the experiment continues.

One reason is because of forcings. And here's a link for ya:
http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/TBA--LTonly.pdf

(say thank you for the great link)

I suggest reading the entire paper, but the 2nd column, bottom of page 160 and on to page 162 discusses forcers.

And if you want to know the author's credentials:

Lonnie Thompson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

However:
This thread is about a heat wave in the summer of 2011. It is not supposed to be a thread about the very real and increasingly well documented changing climate.

Actually, this is off topic.

If you would like, you can start a thread on this very thing and I am sure there are many of us here who would love to discuss the science, providing you can refrain from childish links that are insulting and derogatory.

Ahhhhh, thanks for letting us in on that. It seems I stated that this thread is about the heatwave of the summer of 2011.

Of course it has.

Again, whether .4% or 4% of records have fallen, does not justify the hyperventilating by the media and the GWarmists.

Gosh...it's summer....in the NE.

In the mornings, it may be around 60%rH around 80-85º
But as the sun heats up the day, on a clear day, the rH will drop down to the 40%. Lower if a high pressure zone is right over.
