Sen. Reid has lost his mind.

Reid: “Right now the extremists have locked down this Congress,” Reid continued. “We’re doing nothing. The extremists have locked down the White House. They’re not able to do their work. The country is in an economic malaise and they want to keep this up.”

Too bad Reid was not the senate leader in 2010, and too bad the democrats did not control the congress and the presidency in 2010 either. This way he could have passed a federal budget for fiscal year 2011, and averted the debt ceiling crisis we have now.

Instead of passing a budget, Reid is having to struggle with the extremists in Washington, poor Harry.

This was a deliberate political strategy of the democrats.

They figured they'd just let the GOP House put up budgets and plans, and then they'd just attack, never put up a budget or plan of their own. But now, they're being forced to put up or shut up.

Because they would have taken a bigger hit last election when the voters saw all the BS they were spending on mostly government unions.

1. The Democrats did not control the Senate in 2010, no matter what you claim. The R's were committed to filibuster everything the Democrats wanted to pass, so the D's did not have effective control.

2. A passed budget would have made no difference for what's going on now. The debt ceiling is not the same as the budget.

3. What you Republicans are trying to gloss over is the fact that this debt ceiling debate is about paying the amounts that have already been appropriated. The R's claim to be in favor of personal and fiscal responsibility, yet they are unwilling to have the country pay its bills. Hypocrites.

It's not as if Reid and Pelosi and 0bama were unaware that we would face a debt ceiling crisis in mid 2011, and yet.... that did nothing about it.

0bama and Reid may as well have pulled a pin on a grenade, and tossed it into the US economy, knowing it would detonate right about now. So why did he? Why blow up the economy? For some warped idea of a political gain?

So, 59 senate democrats is not controlling it? Was Reid not senate leader in 2010, was Pelosi not Speaker or the house???

A budget ensures we have enough money to run the government, there was no budget passed or signed by the democrats in 2010, hence no way to ensure we did not run into the exact situation we face today.

0bama blew up the federal budget by adding over $800 billion to it each year, as if every year must now include the one-time stimulus. You really need to step back and analyze what you are saying.

Default Procrastination Party led by Obama, Reid and Pelosi

Why did Reid and Obama vote against raising the debt ceiling before they were for raising the debt ceiling?

Why would Obama and Reid support a package that would not satisfy the issues needed prevent the rating companies from downgrading our financial status even if passed?

The Procrastination Party led by Obama, Reid and Pelosi should be studied by grade schoolers to illustrate the consequences of putting off responsibility to another day.

Fitting analogy, since the grade schoolers will be paying this debt.

Why didn't the Repubs pass one in 2010. Oh, I forgot they were waiting for the new Repubs to take office, saving tax cuts for the rich by holding unemployment benefits hostage, see how well that has worked out.

Why would they have anticipated a "debt ceiling crisis" when the debt ceiling has been raised in EVERY administration since the damned thing was enacted, including SEVEN TIMES under the Bush administration? Do you have reason to believe that Obama or the Democratic leadership are psychoanalyst and foresaw the the Republicans would go bat**** crazy?
