As long as all parties are consenting, then there's really no problems with polygamy.

The problem with the idea that OMG THIS WILL LEAD TO WORSE THINGS is the issue of consent.

As long as consent can be legally given, it should not be illegal.

Inanimate objects, underaged people, and animals cannot give legal consent, therefore, there's no chance that marriage will be extended to those groups.

Poly relationships and incestual realtionships? No real reason to bar those.
