If we had done this in mid-2011 when we last debated the debt ceiling, we could have set America on a path to economic growth and prosperity. This would have led to more jobs and, in turn, to more duly employed taxpayers generating more growth-driven revenue to help us pay down our debt. Instead, you failed to lead, punted the tough decisions and, in doing so, our credit rating was downgraded for the first time in our history.

It’s a tragic reality, but, on your watch, more and more people have come to believe that America is becoming a deadbeat nation inevitably heading toward a European-style debt crisis. …

While you may choose to run your reelection campaign against a “Do-Nothing Congress,” your insistence on doing nothing to meaningfully tackle our debt poses a direct threat to America’s exceptional character and is leading us towards a diminished future.

Marco Rubio needs to be President someday, and soon.

When the government borrows money at zero percent, I'm not feeling Mr. Rubio's pain.

Talk about kicking folks when they are down.

The typical working stiff cannot find work, largely from fallout from sleaze and the deregulation of the corporate lackies, and now the people are worthless deadbeats?

What a tool.

Obama has failed in every respect except continuing Bush's foreign policy. His failure to even attempt to meaningfully address the national debt is downright shameful. Just like it's downright shameful that the Democrats in the Senate haven't passed a budget in THREE FULL YEARS. ANYONE in the real world would be FIRED for what Obama and the Democrats have done.

However, they have the luxury of supporters who don't care what they do, so long as they aren't eeee-vil Republicans. Must be nice to have no accountability from the people who mindlessly vote for you over and over and over again, no matter what your record is.

Only someone from the Right would diss his own nation!
All just to make the President "look bad". Funny.

Is this the same Rubio who lied about when his family immigrated to the United States? Oh yeah, that Rubio!

I would say that the appologists of this failed regime are the ones who need their heads examined.

Actually, you have to have a brain to improve one, so that would exclude Obama supporters from meaningful treatment. Nevermind.

Interesting. Yet you don't mind when Obama trashes the country overseas. Nice double standard there.

The national debt isn't the pressing issue of the day no matter how much the GOP pretends that it is.

Rubio has an inflated opinion of the importance of his tiny little cog's position in the great wheel of gov't.
