China launched its first aircraft carrier for a maiden run on Wednesday, a step likely to boost patriotic pride at home and jitters abroad about Beijing's naval ambitions. (http://news.yahoo.com/chinas-first-aircraft-carrier-makes-maiden-sea-trial-000047792.html - broken link)
American jobs sent to China paid for this carrier... thank you treasonous corporations

Yep. These corporations love to wave the flag when it suits their purpose. But, when it comes down to it, their loyalty is to their Board & Shareholders - not the United States of America. They will gladly help our opponents if there is a dollar to be made.

And American consumers were more than happy to save a buck by buying Chinese made goods, what's your point?

This thing looks like a big, fat target.

Won't be long until phrase "Illegal Immigrants" conjures up images of Americans sneaking over the Great Wall into China

Most people don't mind choice in products internationally. The problem is it has become one sided and certain elite Americans are benefiting by the demise of their country.

big deal, so china launches a new carrier. so what? right now we have 12 carrier battle groups in operation. it will be some time before china can match our naval power. carriers are expensive to build and expensive to operate. and china is going to have to develop aircraft that can land and take off from the carrier deck reliably for a number of years. you dont just build an F18 overnight you know.

the brits mothballed their fleet carriers because of the expense, and russia built one carrier, and it was also mothballed because of the expense.

and it isnt just the carrier and say 80 aircraft that need to be built. you need a host of support vessels as well, and they all need to work together as one well oiled machine if the battle group is going to be effective in combat.

maybe we might have something to worry about in 20-30 years, but right now, no worries. besides, china has the right to build what ever ships they want to build. its their money, and for the defense of their country.

It will be real amusing if the Chinese send that ship steaming off the the coast of California or up the Florida Straits. Fairs fair, right?

Good. This means more business for US defense companies. Do you really think China's neighbors won't respond?
