Why? The "what if" of martial law actually is an aspect of approaching preparedness. We seem to be a small enough group of regulars in this sub-forum that we should be able to discuss these things with civility within this forum without the nastiness of the politics forum, IMO. YMMV

Some states have laws restricting actions that might violate Constitutional rights during declared "martial law" but unless I'm mistaken, most do not. Some of these laws came about as a result of the gun-grabbing following Hurricane Katrina and the tornado that leveled Greensburg Kansas.

I haven't read these laws so I do not know if it falls under 10th Amendment where state law would trump federal or if federal martial law would trump the state laws. Is anyone familiar with these particular state laws?

There was no discussion of anything self-sufficiency or preparedness related in the OP. It was an anti-Obama tirade (a weak one and uninformed at that) and was more of a political opinion.

Haha! So this thread was so bad they sent it to THIS forum. Why am I not surprised?

I thought Obama was a spineless leader who just got rolled by the Tea Party. The main problem the guy has is he is too nice. He needs to open up a can whooooo azzzzz and take it to the Tea Party thugs. I would like to see a little more dictator and a lot less kumbaya. These are tough times, and we need strong leadership.

Jeez. If anyone needs more evidence that this country's education and mental health care systems need improvement, I respectully submit this thread as evidence.

I haven't read the actual text of the OP or any of the response but the answer is "of course not."

It's a What IF thread, not fit for the poly tics area. And with that it's a What if Obama wants to be the first Dictator. Bill Klinton thought he might go for a 3rd term himself!

Oh looky thar! this did get moved. Good luck now.

I come to this forum for self-sufficiency tips and stories, not for parroting Fox news.

No, don't be ridiculous.

And nothing President Obama has done has been heading in that direction.

Let me know when you start seeing black helicopters under your bed.

Take heed, however - this is how these people end up justifying all sorts of nonsense, creating dragons that must be fought.

Do you mean the black helicopters filled with lizard people spraying the plebs with swine flu and taco poop?
