The whole country is going to hell in a hand basket and he's taking a trip to a luxury island retreat. I kind of feel sorry for the poor *******. He's in way over his head. It must have been a real shock for him. Playing ball in grownup land, we don't use a tee and we do keep score.

Why would Obama not run again? All economists are saying the economy will be better next year and the top contenders for the GOP are all flawed candidates. Obama only has to win the swing state of Florida and he's got another 4 years. The GOP has already voted to privatize Medicare, which will make winning Florida easier.

JP Morgan just came out with a warning about another recession. GS has revised their economic outlook for next year with abysmally low GDP, even more economists say UE will probably not get lower than 8.5%.
As I said before, he's underwater in BLUE states right now, never mind swing states. If he can't win PA, he definitely won't win FL, OH, VA, NC, IN...
He has to cut this luxury vacation short and at least pretend to some sense of urgency about the economic problems. If he doesn't, he and his political "strategists" are even bigger idiots than I thought.
Most likely, it was never intended to be more than a 5-7 day vacation. But they advertised it as 10 so when he cuts it short it will look like he's making a "sacrifice" and taking his job seriously. He knows the liberal media will eat it up.
Last night on the nightly news, heart-breaking pictures of the Atlanta job fair sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus showed long lines of thousands of job seekers standing for hours in the heat, eager for a small chance at landing a paycheck, any paycheck. That video was followed immediately by shots of the president arriving on Martha's Vineyard for vacation yesterday afternoon. White House correspondents along for the ride reported from the scene with a harbor full of moored yachts bobbing in the background.
It's not so much the amount of vacation time as it is the timing.
...and where they vacation at. 0bama picks resort golf courses, resort villas on resort islands, or opulent hotels in the most expensive parts of Europe, while Bush mostly went to his ranch. Its much cheaper to vacation at Bush's ranch, then it is to some posh hotel in Spain, were we have to fly in hundreds of security people and buy out half the freaking hotel rooms.
