She was a little sensitive, but in her defense, there is no current legislation about gay issues right now and once a GUEST on an interview states that they do not want to discuss an issue, which has no bearing at the moment, thier wishes should be gramted.
Was her stance on gay marriage a part of her previous platform? Did her book touch on it with opinions for or against? Was she a member of a group or movement that espoused a position on gay marriage?
Answer yes to any of these and she was fair game for Piers or any other interviewer.
You can hardly take a position you don't want to talk about something that formed an integral part of your previous "stumping position". At least not if you expect to be taken seriously or have any credibility.
One thing scares the Tea Party more than anything else: the truth. It has become obvious that they want to keep their prejudices and perhaps their real motives under the radar away from any possible scrutiny. They want THEIR America better, not yours.
It's nice to see an actual interviewer. The British press doesn't coddle and kowtow to politicians (or public figures in general) like the US media does - they actually ask tough questions and demand answers and accountability.
Personally I can't stand Piers Morgan, haven't watched CNN in that time slot since Larry King left.
