It amuses me how terms get thrown around. You got Christian terrorists and Taliban and holy war.

If you think we are just crazy - OK fine, I can understand that.

But it is disingenuous to label Christians as if we are part of some violent resistance group looking to blow up any abortion center or gay rally. There is no track record or history of mass violence & Christians.

It's interesting that the people who actually do violence are protected from violent labels.

Not "at times." They do it constantly. They do it all the time when it is a free exercise case.

But boy, it sure seems like they do a lot more stupid stuff like making small towns of 300 people remove monuments that have been in place for 75 years because some knucklehead atheist moved into town and decided to whine about it.
Because THAT is not a free exercise issue, it is an establishment clause issue.

The ACLU fights to protect BOTH religion clauses of the First Amendment.

BOTH.

The American Taliban is actually the tea party. There has never been a more subversive group in the history of the US. Bachmann has referred to the US government as the enemy while Perry was trying to succeed Texas. Is this the action of American's who love their country? Most of the republican candidates have tried to discredit the President and run him out of office. They are openly the puppets of big corporations and the wealthiest people in the US and defend the rich in the process. The former chair of the tea party, Mark Williams, stated that 'all people who voted for Obama want to be on welfare.' The middle class, working people, the unemployed, seniors, the disabled, and children are the targets of the the tea party. The tea party people hide behind the shield of christianity but do not heed a word of Jesus' teachings. The tea party instead mocks true christian believers and followers of the word of Jesus attempting to use them for their own subversive agenda.

You may be worried about earthquakes and hurricanes but you better be very afraid of the tea party.

The First Amendment of the Constitution demands that the government take no position on religion. It is expressly the will of the people. Yet the ACLU in its relentless attack on any form of Christianity comes to the defense of the Islamic faith in a tax-supported University defying the establishment clause of the First Amendment of the Constitution.

ACLU attack

First of all, many Christians are also liberals by any reasonable definition. Total fall of an argument.

Secondly, you - like many fundamentalists - have little knowledge of what the ACLU actually does and why, because you get your information from dishonest and biased sources.

Have you ever actually READ any of the court opinions in these free exercise and establishment clause cases, or do you even understand the difference?

Why guess?

Do it. The cases are real, the ACLU represented Christians on free exercise grounds.

Please do research them, but until you do, your allegations is entirely baseless.

Wouldn't you say there are many more rabid atheists? The only court cases are against Christians who are forced to defend their right to believe.

WE all know the Jews didn't cause the plight of the Germans, yet how does history tell us they were persecuted? Religion is going through a similar age of persecution. Show me a case where an atheist is being forced to believe in God. Christians can't pray, raise a cross, or share a verse, without being sued.

Rabid atheists are far more prevalent and dangerous.
YOU show me a case where a Christian is being denied the right to pray, raise a cross, or share a verse.

ACLU attack
Different cases, different facts.. Here is the ACLU attacking a Muslim school for violating the Establishment clause:

What a bunch of nonsense and spoon fed rhetoric.

The TP wants;
- Fiscal responsibility
Which is labeled, irresponsible and draconian?
- Pushes no religion and holds peaceful demonstrations
They, however, are called the "American Taliban."
- Are about a Constitutional government
And are satirized as not knowing how to read it let alone understand it.
- Believe that politicians should be held to their promises
Yet are derided (ridiculed) when the people they elect actually do what they said they'd do. OMG, how could they!
- Want to reign in the insanity of mismanaged and abused entitlement programs
And are called racists, who want to bring back slavery.
-Want to protect state sovereignty (the same as our founding fathers)
And are called Anti-American (insanity)

This list could go on and on.

We are witnessing the waking up of America, and the elites can't stand it. Just, three years ago, the dominos lined up for a progressive takeover of the United States, but they took too much too fast. They showed their true nature and Americans wouldn't accept it. The people (unexpectedly) rose to the challenge. Now those people -- conservatives, centrists, independents and Democrats -- are being labeled terrorists.

It's sad when all they can do is make these wild accusations in a dying effort to salvage their power. It shows how shallow their logic (and patriotism) truly is.
