There was a big issue here at the time over the initiative title which originally reflected what the initiative would have actually done - define marriage in the state as a union between a man and a woman - and instead was changed to the blatantly false title ""Eliminates Rights of Same-Sex Couples to Marry" by then Attorney General Moonbeam.
At the time of the Prop 8 vote, same-sex couples did have the right to civilly marry. Prop 8 eliminated that right. What you describe as "blatantly false" was 100% true and accurate.

Sorry but those were just the fact from recent poll. Cpac 62% favor reform of marijuana laws including legalization and up to 35% of Medicare recipients on multiple pain killers. By the way the government pays for the pain killers.
