If women what to have control over their reproductive organs they need to start at the beginning.
You don't want to get pregnant than don't have sex. Get your head out of the sand and know birth control is never 100%.
Real control is self control and knowledge. Most do not have it now a days.
You can't be breeding stock if you don't breed all over the place. I also don't hear pro-lifers saying those kind of things though about women, only pro-choice people use those terms.
And all we have to do is just:
tell alcoholics to stop drinking
tell drug addicts to stop taking drugs
tell smokers to quit smoking
tell fat people to quit overeating
tell criminals to be good
........and everyone will live happily ever after.

How can conservatives be against abortion as a practical matter?
The vast majority of abortions occur from individuals who can't afford kids.
Can you prove that? I'm sure there are a lot of people who abort that indeed can't afford children, but there are many who can but abort due to familial pressure or professional / educational concerns.

Plus, the most conservative states have the highest rates of unwed pregnancies (doesn't necessary mean most unwanted), the most poverty, and the most welfare.
When you stop supporting the basic needs of individuals (food, clothes, shelter), people will become desperate and start rioting (see Middle East).
Conservatives tend to have an absolutist conception of morality in my experience, rather than a utilitarian one as you apparently have. Abortion is clearly homicide; the killing of a human entity (even though many on the Left and some on the Right would argue otherwise against science). Whether that human being possesses "personhood" (a mysterious and vague concept to begin with), or even whether it is ALWAYS wrong to directly kill an innocent human being is what is at stake here. The conservative movement in the United States is firmly rooted in (at least some) traditional Judeo-Christian moral teachings, and one of them is that it is always wrong to directly kill another innocent human. ALWAYS wrong, ALWAYS a transgression of the moral law, NO MATTER what the circumstances. Most conservatives would agree that certain things, although wrong, should not be illegal; but the just purview of the law are those things that directly infringe on another human's rights. Therefore, legalizing murder would be an abomination, especially for the eugenic purposes as described above.
In addition, although they generally have a negative stance towards government benefits, conservatives (actually religious people, but they tend to be conservative) give more to charity than those with liberal beliefs: Religious Faith and Charitable Giving | Hoover Institution . Think about the charitable institutions in your community: are they mostly affiliated with religious organizations?

What are you talking about white babies, the black community is being desimated with abortions. And black babies are adopted by white couples all the time if they can find one.

Abortion was only legal since Roe V Wade. I am sure before it was legal we didn't have 1 in 4 pregnancies aborted the back alley way.
Also Nazi Germany made many women abort their babies---the unwanted class. It's going on right here with so many black babies being aborted. More babies have been killed than all the wars. Nazi Germany would be proud.

Abortion was legal before the quickening at the time the Constitution was written. It wasn't until the 1820s and the wave of religious fanaticism called the great awakening that abortion laws were created.

What do I mean about white babies? Most of the overseas adoptions I hear of are from Romania, Russia, China etc........not Africa, etc. Sad fact but true.
And....the black community is being decimated by poverty....not abortion.
