Good thing these cities have some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Gotta love the mayor's reasoning as to the cause of the problem.

Bullet fragments hit one police officer in the left arm and chest Monday night. He was hospitalized but was expected to survive. Another officer was grazed by a bullet.

Two shooters were killed along with a bystander, 56-year-old Denise Gay, who was shot while sitting on a stoop with her daughter nearby just two doors down from the exchange of gunfire.

Mayor Bloomberg said Gay's death was "a senseless murder, and another painful reminder I think of what happens when elected officials in Washington fail to take the problem of illegal guns seriously."

The people committing these acts of violence must be the right-wing TEA party types, and returning veterans that Janet Napalitano warned us about.

Some stoop regulations are prob in order also, if they would have had the foresight to have made stoops illegal, that poor woman would not have been shot while sitting on it.

Which side fired the bullet that killed her? That is a major consideration. Their history shows the NTPD is not reputed to have many marksmen.

Dear Mayor Bloomberg,

It's the CRIMINALS stupid!

Time to see if Guilani will come out of retirement. Bloomberg has undone all the work G did to get the crime rate down and make the city safer. Clueless tool.

Per the article, the gunman that shot her had a long criminal history including WHEAPON VIOLATIONS.

Seems to me that if bloomberg etc would put people away with extensive criminal records and wheapons charges.....they wouldn't have to scapegoat for thier own failings.

Ah the good old West Indian Day Parade in NY. The parade of fatties and firearms. Don't know which is more comical, the obligatory big boned woman wearing a bikini with all her fat rolls hanging out or the obligatory shooting.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly said some of the shootings were associated with the West Indian Day festivities.

"Frankly," he said, "this is something that does happen at this parade."

How about eliminating the parade Mayor Bloomberg?

Gov. Andrew Cuomo stopped by a pre-parade breakfast before heading to upstate communities where residents are still cleaning up from Tropical Storm Irene.
"Thank you for sharing your culture, your language, your music, your food, your diversity," he told organizers.
Yes all the bloodshed is ok as long as diversity is being shared.

I'd be in support of eliminating that parade the countless Puerto Rican parades in the NYC area.

Can't act like a human being? You don't deserve to celebrate in the name of your third-world cesspool of a country/commonwealth/territory. In fact, if you have so much pride for your homeland, please go back and take your violence with you.

EDIT: I just looked at the picture in the article. Is it the West Indian Day parade or a Miss Cleo convention?
