Top of Chinese wealthy's wish list? To leave China - Houston Chronicle (http://www.chron.com/news/article/Top-of-Chinese-wealthy-s-wish-list-To-leave-China-2158525.php - broken link)
Even though it seems our country is burning like Rome people still want to move here. Im really suprised to hear that a lot of rich chinese want to move here, isn't China supposed to be runnig the show pretty soon? I guess as Americans we should be proud and grateful that people still see us as a becon of hope, and land of opportunity.

China is still run by communists and has stringent currency controls. So getting their capital out to safe havens like the USA or Switzerland requires great efforts. Basically they want their money to be safe from confiscation if they have to move in order to ensure that so be it but it shouldnt necessarily be construed as some major vote of confidence in the USA beyond us being the world's Ft Knox.
The Chinese with money are moving here because most real estate is ON SALE at bargain prices and record low interest rates. They can buy up lots of housing and convert it into RENTALS.

Because as bad as we are the rest of the world is far worse off. We are whining because it's hard to get a job... plenty of other people are being gunned down in the street right now by their governments as they try to protest their hopeless, futureless situations.

Plenty of people are being gunned down in the street right now by guns traffiked by THIS administration under operation "Fast & Furious", "Castatway" and others.
The wealthiest Chinese are just staking their claim and finding the best areas to live in before their military arrives to collect on the US debt default.

I doubt that the Chinese could launch a successful invasion and occupation campaign on our soil! Not with that little thing called the 2nd Amendment, and the fact that we have about 10,000+ nuclear weapons. Yes China has them too, but they have nowhere near the stockpiles that we have.
Because the US is a great place to be rich? I mean, kinda. For now. Turns out living in gated communities with armed guards, fearing that hungry mobs are going to break in and kill your family, is pretty stressful.
