Let's stop acting as if you've ever met a real-life Muslim, or would know one if you tripped over him.
I've met many Muslims. Many were and are nice people. So were a lot of Nazis. That still doesn't prevent me from disliking Islam. You still haven't answered my questions about under what circumstances we're allowed to dislike Islam. Islam is a philosophy and nothing more. It should not be deemed off limits from criticism as implied by the OP.
No they wouldn't "sit well", because they would be very high and I would find that depressing.
But as for the claim that it's improper to contrast Americans and Muslims, that's silly. The only thing "binding" American Catholics and American Muslims is nationality. If your point is that any group in which 16.8% support killing civilians is vile, what does it matter if you sort them by nation, religion, income or eye color? Vile is vile.
Go ahead, post a poll worded exactly this way:
"How many Christians think that suicide bombing and other forms of violence against civilian targets are justified in order to defend Christianity from its enemies?"
And lets see what the responses are..

It sure would be interesting to see the results.
What would that question, worded exactly that way, get the answer to?
If someone asked me that question, I'd answer "50-80 percent"
Some people think that suicide bombing and other forms of violence against civilian targets are justified in order to defend Christianity from its enemies. Other people believe that, no matter what the reason, this kind of violence is never justified. Do you personally feel that this kind of violence is often justified to defend Christianity, sometimes justified, rarely justified, or never justified?
Post it,lets see what the answers are....
