The casino money might be why more people than ever before want to be Indians.

As a separate nation, I think the tribes can decide who is one of them and who isn't. I wonder though if they are getting rid of overly white Indians the same as they want to get rid of overly black Indians.

Where do the profits go if not to the tribe members?

Pure bloods? in The Cherokee nation? Ha! I'd say there are far fewer pure bloods in the nation that mixed bloods.

You have no clue about the heritage of the Cherokee.
We were not called Redskins... for a reason.

Choctaw Cherokee Indian.

I know quite a few black and white people who have Cherokee ancestors, but they don't live on reservations. It seems to me that Cherokees did a lot of mixing.

This is one area I disagree with.

If my people want to be their own nation, they should not receive US Government wealth redistribution.

And with this.

My personal belief is that it was written in their constitution that the freed men were considered members of the tribe and that they are no better than the Europeans hundreds of years ago who removed them from their homeland and stole part of their national identity if they do this to the freedmen. I also feel the freedmen should have a right to take them to court but that they probably wouldn't get a fair shake in a Cherokee court who agrees with the position of the ruling authority to boot them out of the tribe.

I feel if they don't want the US butting into their issues, they should truly become a nation amongst themselves and suppor themselves and their citizens without help from the US government. I think this whole thing is rather funny since the reason the want to boot out the black people is because they want some money from HUD a federal US government organization.

+1. Pay nothing in US taxes, but get on the dole from US taxpayers. Then demand to be left alone, just give us our welfare and leave us alone.

Nah...i don't think so. I mean really, are you trying to convince people that Cherokees didn't look like the typical "Indian" somehow? LOL...who are you kidding. That photo is of someone that is heavily mixed and is far more European than they are Cherokee....just about the same as every other person claiming Cherokee heritage.
