US warns Moscow of concern over cruise missile test (spokeswoman, weapons, military)

The United States has raised concerns with Moscow over a reported Russian test of a cruise missile and is evaluating whether it breaks a 1987 treaty, a US official said Thursday.Washington has raised "the possibility of... a violation," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said, amid reports that Russia had tested a new ground-launched cruise missile.

I don't understand why we seem to be so caught off guard when all these tyrants around the world pull this BS...we spend so much money on the military and international relations but I don't see the return on Investment....its seems like a big waste with very little results..we need to look at how we spend our money and what we really are getting for it...as far as I can tell we continue to do the same things over and over again expecting a different result...you would think with the NSA listening to every call on the planet and reading all the emails..they would be able to anticipate some of these problems instead of the Chinese fire drill that makes us look like we are clueless...either we start getting real results for all this money we are spending or cut it...what we are doing now is making ourselves look like clueless incompetent wasteful spenders..

"Caught off guard"? The missile was first tested in 2008, and diplomats have been making boring inquests about whether it may or may not violate a boring subclause in a boring weapons treaty. That's how it works.
