Here are the unemployment rates for August by educational attainment:

Less than a High School diploma: 14.3 percent unemployment

High School graduates, no college: 9.6 percent unemployment

Some college or an Associate's Degree: 8.2 percent unemployment

Bachelor's degree and higher: 4.3 percent unemployment

So spare us the NYC sob stories of college graduates not being able to find work. It's just not true.
Just because people have jobs, doesn't mean everything is great. These stats don't include underemployment. Many jobs which used to require little to no post-secondary education are being filled individuals with bachelors degrees that cannot get into the career they studied to get into.

Underemployment is just as bad as unemployment because it still results in the widening gap between rich and poor. Minimum wage or close to it with bills to pay and a general increase in the standard of living with a dollar losing value equals poverty.

We had a great economic plan before our politicians jumped into the pockets of multi-national corporations. There needs to be an end to corporate lobbying, end to multiple terms in office, a reduction in benefits for Congress people, and campaign finance reform. There won't be a positive change and proper moves made until you ending the corporate pimping of Congress. I don't trust either party with the current climate in DC, and ideologues give me a headache because they are foolish enough to think their party will create a positive change.

I agree with Bloomberg. The US will see a huge increase in crimes of necessity. The first groups to rise up with be the groups with the highest unemployment and least resources. We should also consider the fact that many inter-city gangs, blacks, Hispanic, asian, etc are armed to the hilt. When people can no longer find work or feed themselves or their families their only option is crime. I believe those with no other option will lead the revolution about to unfold in America.
Think about the recent events in the middle east. Most of those uprisings were caused by the same things that now are affecting and concerning Americans. The major difference here is that most Americans are armed.
My hope is that those that take action do not take it against those who have little or nothing but instead direct their anger that the people that are causing this suffering in America.

There could also be ID stands where the illegals could get their driver's license or ID card right then and there. That oughta create a lot of jobs, don't you think?

Then I won't have to work at WalMart in a few years and I'll be helping the "New Republic"!
Who knows, a future President may be among those I greet.

After all there's a huge difference between sneaking in and being "greeted"...right?

I think it's one of the qualifiers for the Office.

Thumbs up Kudlow rips on Bloomberg's irresponsible threat of riots

The truth cannot hide!
Mike Bloomberg's Irresponsible Riot Tactic - Page 1 - Larry Kudlow - Townhall Finance
Quote:
New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, in a radio interview on Friday, warned that high unemployment could lead to widespread rioting. That’s right. He actually said that. At a time when European cities have suffered massively from hooliganism, and at a time when U.S. towns like Philadelphia and Kansas City have suffered huge human and commercial tolls from so-called flash riots.

For Bloomberg to come out with this statement is irresponsible and incendiary. But you know what? He’s got a personal agenda.
Yes Bloomberg has a personal agenda indeed.

Quote:
Some political insiders I spoke to believe Bloomberg desperately wants Obama to win a second term. They say the New York City mayor wants to be Obama’s new treasury secretary.
Lesson of the day: If you are a progressive fearmonger to gain more power!

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!

Bloomberg gets an armed escort to the outhouse. Easy for him to be anti-gun.

Do you think Americans Elect is a front group for Bloomberg? I've heard that theory. If it's true, I am not sure that's a bad thing. I would probably rather see Bloomberg in the White House than Obama, Perry or Romney.
