In speaking to a congressional committee, Armstrong, Cernan and others called the recent decision by our government both embarrassing and unacceptable. They say it was a surrender to the very people who spurred us to our growth in the program and one even said that it puts the Chinese ahead of us since they intend to put a robot on the moon in 2013. "When the Chinese can reach the Moon and we cannot, I do not see why any other nation would regard us as a world leader," he said.
There is no more US Space program. There's no oil up there.
Sure there is. Titan, Saturn's moon, has hundreds of times more oil than all the known oil on Earth. It would just cost more to get there and retrieve it than it was worth.

The Moon of Titan is a sovereign nation and we should not invade Titan and engage in war for oil against the innocent Titan peoples.
Who has paid for the entire program up to now? I would think that it could be done by the same people. Of course, anything that would lessen our standing in the world and raise that of Russia and China is in favor of communists and you know what many of us think about Obama, I think.

Taxpayers of course. And then, instead of whining about our lack of a space program the right will be whining about the wasteful spending for a space program
