Didn't you learn anything from all those pro-war country songs back in 2002? It was all about "Freedom isn't free, it costs folks like you and me." Because they hate our freedom, right? Also see Freedom Fries.

The sad part is that Obama couldn't be a bold enough leader to start to challenge the assumptions that these foreign engagements were neccesary, he had to roll along with a Bush Doctrine-lite strategy. Sure, I'm fine with us lobbing the occasional hellfire missle up the ass of some clown out in Yemen, but Afghanistan(and the neighboring areas in Pakistan) is the graveyard of empires--no way you want to stick around in that mess. Just pull a Nixon--declare victory and go home...

They win if we constantly give attention to them, constantly have posts on them yes they will win. It is what it is and we cannot change what is going to happen. Live life the way your use to living it and do not change the way you live.
It is wise to be vigliant always after 9/11 none of us are stupid, see something that does not seem right, you know what to do. However we give them more power, the more we talk about them, or if things changed after 9/11.
For gosh sakes most of us know things have changed, we are not stupid, and for anything else that happens to us, we are responsible for the actions we choose.

Buy a home you cannot afford, yes your going to lose it, no one is tying anyone's hand and saying but a home you can't afford, you own it if you make that choice. Same with anything else, you cannot afford it do not buy it. Everyone likes to blame others for things that do not go well in our lives, but how many of us, really do things to change things for the better.

Lose a job, that is a much different story, you may lose your home due to unforseen circumstances, and no money coming in.
Things really have not changed all that much, politicians do not change, nor their habits. However what has changed we are in a recession.
