Everything, of course, hinges on them remaining peaceful. There has never yet been a leftist protest that has remained peaceful, so I very much doubt this one will remain so. However, until such time when it does turn violent, I fully support their right to protest peacefully.
Ya, those damn violent protesters! What good are they?! All they did in the 1700's was start a country! Those damn rabble rousers!!!!

Don't they know America is so $#*(+#@)$& NON-violent!!????

Please back up your words that they want freebies by interviewing at least 50 of the THOUSANDS who are protesting across America....and let me hear from their own mouths.

Or maybe right NOW you can tell me what they want for free and that is the ONLY thing ALL the protesters want....Can ya PROVE IT!!????

No, they're drawing attention to the ONLY god Repugs have, the Wealthy , and that's making the slavering Repug supporters worried.

Sure, those people have stoves and fridges! Must be heavy to carry around with them, though. So, if they do not have stoves and fridges, what do you propose they eat? Obviously, they must eat food that is already prepared. Or, like a previous poster, do you think these people should just die of starvation?

As for game consoles for the 'welfare' poor, there are many places to get them for free. Freecycle.org comes to mind. My daughter has personally given away (for free) several game systems. I have given away many good, useful things, also.

But, that won't matter to you. You have no concept of being poor. You know nothing about that topic.

I walked through the Occupy Seattle protest.....and my God, I haven't seen so many smart phones and ipads being used in my life.

Believe me, when the Lords of Wall St look out of their office suites and see throngs of people who want to hang them, they get the message that they have pushed this way too hard, and that the people do have the power to do something about it.
Thomas Jefferson warned a new nation about 2 of the greatest challenges to their freedom and prosperity. Those threats were central banking, and corporations. We have allowed both to rob us of our control of our government and of our economy.
The people are saying it is time to change.
This is not the first time this has happened, the last time we were lucky enough to have the leadership of a man like Teddy Roosevelt.
The anti trust legislation passed in those days has now been circumvented by the monopolies of today, and the people have suffered greatly as a result.

Actually they represent the 99....you. You should be thankful and maybe send them some food. They are actually looking out for the interest of the 99, while so many in the 99 vote against there own interest.

it's not hard to determine what they want when they stupidly post their faces online holding a placard *****in about how much debt they are in.

cold hard truths.....

-there will never be 0% unemployment
-if you look like a slob, you will never get hired
-if you harbor a **** poor attitude, especially against your coworkers and bosses, you are gonna get fired.
-if you work like a sloth, you are gonna get let go
-if you buy something you can't afford, you are gonna wind up losing
-keep this in mind....know when to hold, know when to fold
-money speaks louder than words. If you think banks are bad, don't bank with them; if you think Starbucks are expensive, don't drink them; if colleges are expensive, go somewhere else.

I find the whole "voting against your own best interest" argument to be one of the more vile and condescending positions that people like to take. I know what is best for me, you, or some other bunch of folks have no idea....kind of like how our federal government likes to tell us that they know whats best for us. I'm sure a small % of the US population needs someone to tell them whats best for them, because in any society you have some people who unfortunately don't have the means or mental capacity to care for them self.

These people aren't "looking out for me." I'm quite capable of doing that for myself. In fact some of the ridiculous things they are fighting for are counter intuitive to what is good for everyone. Making up some random fixed salary/wage is one of their causes that will lead to more economic problems...as are the other things I've heard them spouting off about like "free education" by absolving student loan debt, and making school free. Again, all disasterous to the economy.

I don't want these people "looking out for me" because they have no concept of how the world and the economy should function. Its not to say that those in charge now are all that much better, but these self-proclaimed 99% who have a limited understanding of the things they are fighting for and who have radical and extreme socialist ideas do NOT represent anywhere near 99% of the general hard working people of this country who deal in logic and reality.

ROFLMAO!!! That is the funniest thing I've read. I needed that laugh this morning.

Yes, as a matter of fact, if you had read my previous posts on this thread, you'd know that I have been on welfare. I have indeed lived in a hotel room because we had no place to live. I've lived in a car rather than a makeshift "shelter", so you got me there. LOL!

However, when speaking about the "poor" in this country, I was not specifically speaking about the homeless. The homeless can't afford fast food, shelter, fridges, etc, because they are HOMELESS. They eat whatever they can get their hands on.

However, the people who are buying fast food instead of "healthy" food, are not homeless, and do indeed have a stove and refridgerator.

As for getting stuff off of free cycle, yes, you're right you can get some great stuff off of them. I have plenty of things from there, but you know what you have to have to get the stuff... internet access. Now, when I was poor, internet and cable where the first things I stop paying for.. because as nice as they were, they weren't neccesities. And funny enough, they still aren't.. not even to go get a job. YOu can get a job by walking, driving, or taking the bus around the town you live in and "pounding the pavement" to find one.

I think it's very clear that it's actually YOU that knows little about really being poor. Because when you're really poor, things like game consoles aren't high on your list of things to have. Even with two small children, like I had, it wasn't on my list of things I needed. And believe me, I spent plenty a night crying over the fun and nice things I couldn't give to my boys, but I made sure they were fed and had clean clothes and knew that I was working hard to make things better for us eventually.
