FYI, The Fed Govt, yeah that's right, the Fed Govt you seem to hate, bought and paid for Alaska (meaning the people of the lower states, not Alaska) in 1867. If you leave, we want the return on our investment and then some.

Seriously, the threads on this forum are getting so crazy. People here casually discuss the end of the US like it we lead to some utopia. If the people on this forum represent the majority of Americans viewpoint on this there is no hope. You will all get what you wish for. Sad. It aint' gonna be pretty no matter how it goes down.

As I recall, the purchase of Alaska at the time (for a mere $0.02 per acre) was called "Seward's Folly." And as far as return on your great-grandparent's investment, because it certainly was not yours, it has been repaid several thousand fold just in the oil we provide you lower-48ers, not to mention the billions in gold, lead, zinc, copper, timber, and salmon that has been produced in Alaska.
