It's called reality. The Brits felt the same way. Look at em now. Many sharia zones have been established that operate outside of british law. Who woulda thunk it.

and that's the fault of the British for having a government that isn't wholly dependent on freedoms to which illegal laws could be passed.

We have the US Constitution. You should read it some time.

You don't know about those cities in Michigan where Sharia has been allowed to do so much? Oh yes you do you just don't want to admit that it is the Upper US where this is coming to fruition and this is too near your home.

I guess being an atheist it is easy to worry about the Bible belt. Huh?

If dominionist Christian groups had their way (Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin), this whole planet would be under strict Christian law. At the very least you would be re-educated if you were a homosexual, amongst other things. Extremist Muslims and extremist Christians basically want the same thing; worldwide order, under their god's rules. Do we really want to defend either side? The lesser of two evils? Is there no better path?
How is it that Muslims deal with homosexuals in Iran? Oh yeah, they stone them to death. I think that our American homosexuals may well want to look closely at Shariah and how it could be a detriment for their lives.

So you'll just sit back and blame the US government when it happens right? No I think Obama should read the US Constitution. His violations of that said document give me no reason to trust our government to do the right thing. You continue thinking they have your best interests at heart though if that makes you feel better.

It is what keeps them from turning us into what they wish, on a whim.
I wish I could agree with you about the power of the Constitution, but I am seeing too much in the way of changing the meaning of the document without any official actions.

Not obey? They don't allow that kind of behavior if they are in control. Our system allows you to talk like that but I don't think theirs would.

I could see a more sympathetic attitude towards Sharia in the more Progressive states due to thier strong committment to diversity and non-judgementalism.

But in the Bible belt, of all places?
I don't think that old Savoir realizes that Oklahoma is still considered part of the Bible belt and their recent laws concerning Shariah.

What you are saying, I think, is By God if they could do it the present one can also do it. In other words your boys set the precedent and we will continue to violate the document since get evens are to be used in law.
