So why does Obama get praised, and Reagan, not so much? He would literally write the same people two checks because they wanted to frame the first one just so they could eat.

I would have praised Reagan if I knew about it before now.

Conservatives actually want to help them by creating jobs. Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, teach him to fish........

You seem fair. I really really wanted to hear from the OP'er because I specifically remember some of his criticisms of our 40th president and conservatives and their movement in general.

I try to be. I don't always succeed though.

I have to admit I had a slight meltdown last night because of some personal things and such. One poster asked me where I was from while I tried to make a point about hiring and such. I thought to myself, seriously? If I answer this question what would be the consequences... There was a very easy conclusion as to what those would be. Are these folks for lifting people up, or are they for bringing people down?

You know the answer...

This is just a refund to the taxpayers for his unearned salary.

You may not agree with his policies or reactions but how can you say his salary is unearned?

Conservatives also preach the private sector can handle the problems of our country better then the gvt. They also tout how much more generous their party is when it comes to charity. In this instance I think Obama did a good thing just like Reagan did when he was POTUS. What is good for the goose ...........

I believe Obama is a sincere person, sincerely misguided at times but yes he deserves credit for personally helping Americans in need.

Obama is the kind of guy that would make a good friend or neighbor, his kids are well behaved and Michelle is smart and personable, his politics are a different story.

And it is those decisions that put Americans at odds with him. Jimmy Carter is also a decent caring person , but his politics were bad also.

When a story comes up about a needy person, some RW alwasys suggests that us "bleeding heart liberals" just write the person a check. Looks like Obama does that. But he can't win for losing with the RW.
