I have an honest question- if this is true, should we have expected any other reaction? We've done a few good things here and there (that aren't usually televised or written in the news, mind you) but on the whole they've had to deal with their country reduced to rubble for the second time in modern world history. Should we really expect them to be grateful?

It's time we cut our losses and pull out of the region altogether- Israel has more than adequate resources to deal with these things on their own, and it's not like the people in the Middle East really want us there, anyway. Nothing we ever do there is going to be "right" simply because of cultural differences, it's time that we recognize that.

How about lets get the hell out of there.

Karzai says in a military conflict between pakistan and the U.S., they will back Pakistan.

Great. We arm them to fight us. Sounds familiar, we armed them to fight the soviets and then they used the same weapons against us years later. We just don't learn do we.

Hamid Karzai: Afghanistan Would Back Pakistan In U.S. War
They didn't mind the Taliban, terrorists occupying their country imposing a strict Islamic law that banned music, poetry, kite flying, mandatory beards, burkas and medieval treatment of women and girls.

Just proves what I said before that they will lie, cheat and kill to protect their own if their are no infidels to fight they will fight each other over differences in the way they perceive their religion. Time to come home and if they want another a$$ whipping keep up your terrorist ways and the big silver birds will return.

I wonder how Paul voted when Bush was asking for permission to invade Afgan and Iraq? Anyone know?

How does attaching blame serve any useful purpose? Post Mortems should be reserved til after the patients death!

Get out and stay out! If you must perform an autopsy; appoint a multipartisan (not just bipartisan) commission to study the ultimate results of your foreign policy over the last 20 years or so THEN publish the results for the American people to read and study.

Let the next few POTUS's consider foreign incursions, either militarily or subvertively, at their peril of having the American public declare "over our dead bodies" you're going into Syria or Uganda, Somalia or indeed back to the eastern European theater where the Serbs and Croats are at it yet again!

Turkey going after the Kurds within Iraq while you're still in the region should speak volumes to you. They'll only suspend that while they dig their dead out from under the earthquake collapse of multi-story buildings built of dried mud & camel dung. Where's France, Germany, Italy, and Greece while all this crap is happening in their back yard, oh gee, they're busy pointing their fingers at each other and begging the IMF for more money to fund their lavish lifestyles.

Look at the days current events in Tunisia for your hint at what to expect in the future; an observably democratic vote, with a 90% population turnout, voting to go with a predominantly Muslim (repressive Sharia) form of governance.

These culturally backwards countries are bent on returning to an authoratative form of 'repression of freedoms' as their representative governments. Why? They're stupid, who knows why? Who gives a rat's a**! Not your problem!

YOU CAN'T change that with either money or bombs! Stop trying!

Obama and his buddies from JP Morgan are too busy using the military as protection to set up mining of their precious metals to worry about a pullout now. Plus we have to keep the oil flowing to Pakistan and India along the pipline so countries will continue to buy up debt to purchase oil so our idiots in congress can keep their spending free for all marching along.

Reroute all that money to rebuilding America... new roads, bridges, train system, subways, etc. Put the troops to work right here in the USA (not as troops, but as workers).

Actually, since the only way that new "dollar bills" can be authorized is by Congress going deeper into debt (see: Title 12 USC Sec. 411), Congress will always embrace "new" ways to excuse huge deficits. And there's nothing like an unWar for expediency.

The story also pointed out that the U S gives the Paki's a billion big ones to fight terrorism and we have Hillary begging them to take action against the terrorist in their country. The countries leader we are defending says if war breaks out they will side with the Paki's. There is only one thing to describe U S foreign policy and it is we make the 3 stooges look smart.

The Military Industrial Complex wants to get fed, and it eats billions of dollars every month. If we are engaged in a futile policy of military engagement with no resolution possible then the M.I.C is okay with that, as it insures the money will not be interrupted. Everybody loses while those making weapons and the outlying companies with defense related contracts win.

It is money where the only return on the investment is death. No one benefits except for those who provide the services to kill other human beings. War without end is now the goal and it is easy to pay politicians off and tell them to preach the necessity of the so-called "War on Terror"

The world looks at the U.S. as terrorists and I'm beginning to think they are correct. We are doing all the killing and all the torturing, Al Qaeda and the Taliban do very little by comparison.

Of course, conservatives in this country will continue to shriek how necessary it is to "support the troops" by sending them into wars that have no conception of a "victory", and it is possible that it is by design.

Lots of people getting rich in these wars.
