I always thought it was NYC but I think NYC liberals are more of the limousine liberal variety, the liberal 1% if you will. Oakland liberals seem down right scary openly advocating for communism, Black Nationalism, Sharia and a whole host of loony causes.

Oakland becomes center stage for OWS movement

Quote:
The Occupy Wall Street movement began in New York City as a protest against wealth inequality. It has spread nationally and globally. But Wednesday, Oakland became its epicenter. Activists from around the San Francisco Bay Area and the nation are pouring in to take part in a series of demonstrations, marches and a proposed city strike.
There are multiple events scheduled for Wednesday, and they are the focus of two full pages on the website OaklandLocal.com. The main events include a noon rally in front of City Hall, followed by a free lunch at Occupy Oakland's makeshift kitchens. Events at City Hall are scheduled to culminate at 5 p.m. with a "General strike mass convergence, rally and labor cookout."
Toward evening at least two separate marches are planned to go the Port of Oakland, which some protesters have vowed to shut down. The first march leaves the Frank Ogawa Plaza in front of City Hall at 4 p.m. An "action" at the port has been called for 7 p.m.

I think that the far left activists in Oakland that are quite obviously in charge of that one have managed to go further than the others have. I wonder when the Soros money will dry up for that bunch.

Hey thanks for the means of getting to their website. I have wondered about them from the start.

Splitting a veteran's skull in the head with a canister and spraying crowds with rubber bullets doesn't tend to have the best end-results.

That's because rents in Berkeley are too high.

Exactly. When you look at some af the whackadoodles they elect it's pretty obvious it's not Ground Zero for normalcy.

As of this morning, the loony mayor has encouraged city employees and school teachers to participate in Occupy Oakland today. Schools are open and I guess children will be supervised if not taught, although it has been suggested that this day will be a good lesson in "democracy." The police are ordered to be present and forego preplanned vacation days, etc. The police are not happy, obviously.

Associating with a group of idiots throwing rocks and bottles at cops doesn't tend to have the best end results either.
